Answer

  • No, deleting an export rule does not affect existing users who are using the same export policy.
Example:
  1. Export policy A has export rule A and export rule B.
  2. Client A uses export rule A.
  3. Client B uses export rule B.
  4. Deleting export rule A not affect NAS functions such as disconnections or I/O errors for client B that uses the same export policy A.
  • Export rules only manage access permissions for clients and do not affect existing connections or data flow.

Additional Information

  • There are no special preparatory works or limitations for deleting export policy rules.
  • The lack of impact from deleting export rules is not dependent on the type of client OS using the export policy.
