Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.14.1
  • NFS
  • NetApp XCP

Issue

  • Data copied from on-premises NetApp to Cloud Volumes ONTAP using XCP over NFS resulted in a mismatch between source and destination dataset sizes.
  • Source folder size was 91GB; XCP copied 78GB with no errors reported during the run, resulting in a 13GB discrepancy.
  • XCP verify operation passed on some files, but failed on others with ‘different mtime’ as the only reported difference.
  • The source volume was in a read-write state during migration.
  • No error codes were observed in the XCP output.
