Can ONTAP CLI directly show space usage per CIFS share?

Answer

No. CIFS shares are simply access points mapped to volumes or path.ONTAP does not maintain share-level capacity accounting.

Note:

  • If the share maps to a qtree, Use quota report to check qtree usage:

::> quota report -vserver <SVM>

  • If the share is a regular directory (not a qtree)

File System Analytics (FSA) in System Manager: Provides per-directory capacity visualization and trends.
