Issue

  • CIFS user tries to take the ownership of file/folder by using File Explorer>Properties>Security, but were unable to do so.
  • The file/folder with the Security Style: ntfs and Effective Security Style: unix
  • While the effective security style of the file/folder is unix, CIFS clients such as File Explorer cannot modify permissions.
  • Modified the security style and effective security style to mixed and unix, also ntfs and ntfs respectively, however, it did not help.
  • Added the user account to Builtin/Administrators which did not help either.
