CIFS share inaccessible due to MDV volume missing on aggregate

Issue

  • Users unable to access the cifs share in vserver.
  • Auditing is enabled on the vserver to audit CIFS logon and logoff information and file operations.
  • Strict Guarantee of Auditing is set to true.
  • Below is an error reported in the node where LIF resides.

Node1  ALERT  adt.stgvol.missing: Audit subsystem internal error: Staging volume "MDV_aud_100000xxxxxxxxxxx" is either not created or not available.

  • New aggregate creation on the node times out and causing the inconsistency between VLDB and WAFL.
