Unable to Reset CIFS Server Password Due to DNS Resolution Issues to Domain Controllers in ONTAP

Issue

  1. After CIFS server password expired users are unable to access CIFS shares. All attempts to establish a connection Domain Controller (DC) fails, resulting in CIFS protocol access failure.
  2. ldap check -vserver Test shows LDAP status Down.
    cluster::*> ldap check -vserver Test
           Vserver: vserver
           Client Configuration Name: AD_ldap
                  LDAP Status: down
          LDAP Status Details: Error: Validate the Ldap configuration procedure failed
  3.  Vserver cifs domain password change fails with Error:
    Error: command failed: Password update failed. Reason: Kerberos Error: Invalid credentials were given.
