Issue

  • NFS users encounter Access Denied errors when attempting to interact with data that requires membership to a specific group
  • AUTH_SYS Extended Groups is enabled for the NFS server
  • LDAP is leveraged as the external name-service where the group details should be retrieved from
  • Diagnostic getxxbyyy getgrlist queries from ONTAP do not reflect the users' membership in the necessary group
  • Similarly, NFS clients themselves do not reflect the users' membership in the necessary group (e.g. via the 'id' command)
