SP duplicate IP alert in AFF A400, AFF C400, FAS8300, FAS8700 system

Issue

  • During ONTAP upgrade, SP was not reachable and the system was showing SP duplicate IP alerts:
[node1: spmgrd: sp.dup.ip:error]: SP IP address 10.x.x.x in use by another system.
[node1: spmgrd: sp.dup.ip:error]: SP IP address 10.x.x.x in use by another system.
[node1: spmgrd: sp.dup.ip:error]: SP IP address 10.x.x.x in use by another system.
  • No duplicate IP address is found in the network.
  • After ONTAP upgrade, the sp.dup.ip  alerts remain
  • The issue can also occur after a SP/BMC firmware update or after a SP/BMC reboot
