FAQ about upgrading to ONTAP 9.15 for FlexCache write back functionality

Answer

To use the FlexCache Write Back functionality, both the cache cluster and the origin cluster must be on ONTAP 9.15.1 or higher. 

  •  Order of upgrading cache and origin sides
    • There are no specific restrictions on the order of upgrading the cache and source clusters.
    • Ensure that both clusters are upgraded to ONTAP 9.15.1 or higher.
  • Enabling Write Back Functionality
    • The Write Back functionality is not automatically enabled by the upgrade. 
    • It  needs to manually enable it.
