Latency seen while copying files from local disk to NetApp lun due to incompatible host HBA and switch sfp

Issue

  • Latency seen while copying files from local disk to NetApp lun.
  • There is no latency seen while copying the same files to other storage lun like Hitachi.
  • No latency found on the lun from Perf archives collected during the issue time.
  • EMS logs on storage looks clean too without any issues reported.
  • No issues seen on the NetApp ports or lifs either
  • In order to isolate this, test lun was created and same issue was seen on the test lun as well, which indicated the issue is above the storage or lun layer.
