If StorageGrid responds slow to Fabric Pool requests can other volumes be impacted?
Color Definition
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- Storage Grid
Answer
This can be dependent on the amount of IO that is waiting to tier and the resource availability of the node where the data resides. If there are delays tiering data to Storage grid, node side resources can be overwhelmed. Use the following command to track which volumes are tiering:
Example:
:> set diag; statistic start -object wafl_comp_aggr_vol_bin -counter cloud_bin_operation|bin_reads ::*> statistics show Report wafl_comp_aggr_vol_bin for ASUP – 20250317XXXXXXXX Cluster:Example (944f8ebd-8e0f-11e9-acb2-0a) Node:Example (5d2571ae-d2ef-11ec-a8e9) Model:AFF-A400 Release:9.14.1P11 TimeRange: 2025-03-14 23:00:01.000+00:00 - 2025-03-15 05:00:00.001+00:00 start end instance cloud_bin_operation GET cloud_bin_operation PUT bin_reads 2025-03-1423:05:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:10:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_bin_ 1409732 0 27773003 2025-03-1423:10:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:15:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_bin_1_ 1805279 0 3417743 2025-03-1423:35:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:40:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_bin_1 1620467 0 25017066 2025-03-1423:40:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:45:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_bin_1 588542 0 9456271 2025-03-1423:45:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:50:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_common_bin_ 1 1 2025-03-1423:45:04 +00:00 2025-03-14 23:50:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_bi 1 1 2025-03-1500:05:04 +00:00 2025-03-15 00:10:04 +00:00 aggr_data_n01_ssd_1_it_arch_b 309 0
