Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • FlexCache volume

Issue

  • FlexCache volumes experience high latency when performing delete operations on source volumes. The latency is significantly higher for files previously read from the cache compared to files not accessed via the cache.
  • High WAN RTT between origin and cache site.

Example:

::>cluster peer ping -count 30
Node: demo_cluster-01             Destination Cluster: cache_cluster
Destination Node IP Address       Count  TTL RTT(ms) Status
---------------- ---------------- ----- ---- ------- -------------------------
cache_cluster_n1   10.58.72.237         1   48 127.097 interface_reachable
cache_cluster_n1   10.58.72.237         2   48 147.748 interface_reachable
cache_cluster_n1   10.58.72.237         3   48 127.316 interface_reachable
