NFSv3 client says files/folders are owned by nobody nobody when viewing specific mount point

Issue

  • ls -l of/under a specific mount point on an NFSv3 client says files/folders are owned by nobody nobody, when its supposed to show the UID and GID of the owners
  • Volume with junction path /vol is mounted via NFSv3 at mount point /mnt1
  • Folder with path /vol/folder is mounted via NFSv3 at mount point /mnt2
  • File with path /vol/folder/file is owned by user with UID 111 and GID 222
  • ls -l of /mnt1/folder says file is owned by nobody nobody
  • ls -l of /mnt2 says file is owned by 111 222
