iSCSI SAN host loses connectivity to LUNs during ONTAP ANDU

Issue

  • During ONTAP upgrade/ANDU some hosts lost connectivity completely to iSCSI LUNs
  • san.initiator.login.missing events are logged in EMS:

Tue Jan 1 00:00:11 +0100 [Cluster1-01: bcomd: san.initiator.login.missing:notice]: Initiator "iqn.1991-xx.com.microsoft:xyz-xx5.niit-xx.com" is not logged in to any LIFs on this node for Vserver "SVM1", portset "-". Access to LUNs might be disrupted if a failover occurs.
