Answer

Objects counted for size are different, it is expected behavior that the snapshot size displayed in 'snapshot show' and  total file size under the .snapshot folder do not match.

  • A snapshot size, which can be checked with snapshot show, is the size of the difference block referenced only from that snapshot.
  • A snapshot is a copy of the reference information in the filesystem at the time it was taken.
  • Total file size in the snapshot is the same as the total file size in the Active File System at the time it was taken.
