Why do "volume show" and the REST call GET /api/storage/volumes return a different number of volumes?

The REST API call does not return some types of volumes by default:
  • SVM root volumes
  • Metadata volumes

For example:

MDV_CRS_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
