  • System Manager
  • SP/BMC firmware automatic updates

Answer

The document describes how to enable automatic updates from both the GUI and CLI, but each controls different parts of ONTAP’s automatic update behavior:

  • GUI (System Manager):

Manages the global enable/disable setting for ONTAP and SP/BMC automatic upgrades.

  • CLI(system service-processor image show -fields autoupdate)

Controls whether SP/BMC firmware is automatically updated in specific scenarios, refer to Manage ONTAP SP/BMC firmware updates

Therefore, a mismatch between the GUI and CLI settings does not indicate a problem.
