Why does the "aggregate show-space" command display a significant discrepancy between "Total Used" and "Total Physical Used"?

Answer

  • The Total Used value reflects the aggregate space allocated to volumes, regardless of whether data has actually been written.
  • Total Physical Used may vary based on actual data written and the use of storage efficiency features like deduplication.
  • This situation does not currently affect customer operations.
  • When creating new volumes, only the avail value from the df -A command output represents the available space, regardless of Total Physical Used.
