Answer

  • If the space guarantee setting not specified when create a FlexClone volume, is determined by the parent volume's configuration.
    • If the parent volume is thin-provisioned, the FlexClone will be thin, consuming minimal aggregate space.
    • Conversely, if the parent volume is thick-provisioned, the FlexClone will be thick, reserving space in the aggregate.
  • To ensure the desired space guarantee configuration for a FlexClone volume, explicitly specify the -space-guarantee parameter during creation. This can be done via both the CLI and the System Manager web interface.
