ONTAP image validation fails due to SnapMirror compatibility status check in 9.12+

  • ONTAP 9.12+

Issue

  • Current running ONTAP version is any release of 9.12.1.
  • Upgrading ONTAP to any version 9.12.1 or higher.
  • During ONTAP image update validation receive the error Validation check failed to execute properly in the SnapMirror Status Pre-update Check:

Pre-update Check                  Status     Error-Action
--------------------              ---------- --------------------------------------------

SnapMirror Status                   Error    Error: Validation check failed
                                             to execute properly.
                                             Action: Ensure CPU utilization
                                             is less than 50% by running the
                                             "node run -node <nodenames>
                                             -command sysstat -c 10 3"
                                             command and then try the
                                             validation again using the
                                             "cluster image validate"
                                             command. If the problem
                                             persists after retrying,
                                             contact technical support for
                                             assistance.

  • This issue is not related to any CPU utilization as the Action message is mistated as per Bug ID CONTAP-206890.
