ONTAP AutoSupport messages fail using HTTPS: error setting certificate verify locations

AutoSupport messages are successfully delivered to NetApp using HTTP as the transport, but fail when using HTTPS with certificate validation enabled.

The signature can be determined by viewing the errors logged by the AutoSupport subsystem by reviewing the  /mroot/etc/log/mlog/notifyd.log:
