Is there any impact to the FabricPool when replacing a switch that has an intercluster LIF for FabricPool attached?

Answer

There is no impact if there is a route from the node hosting the aggregate to object storage through the node’s Intercluster LIF. 

  • If the intercluster LIF is failed over from the port where it is hosted and there is a pathway to the object storage, there is no impact.
  • If there is no valid failover port, the route to object storage is lost, which has an impact.
    • If the Intercluster LIF on the HA partner node is not down, storage failover can work around the impact.
