  • Yes,  the data consistency between the source and destination is guaranteed.
  • The migration with volume move uses the Block Replication Engine (BRE) engine for synchronization, similar to a DP-type mirror.

Note: There are some known bugs related to volume move. For more details, please refer to the information below.

  • For ONTAP 9.8 through 9.11.1:  BUG 1493600 - Race condition during certain write operations causes data inconsistency
  • For ONTAP 9.13 or later: BUG CONTAP-313783 - WAFL inconsistency causes ONTAP cluster node to unexpectedly reboot with the error 'Unexpected shared blocks counter value'
