Answer

  • Once a volume has been deleted for more than 12 hours in ONTAP and is not in the recovery queue, there is no native method to recover it.
  • Data can only be restored from pre-existing backups(SnapMirror, NDMP, or external).
  • Proactive backup configuration is essential to prevent permanent data loss.
