Answer

Yes.
  • During the volume move, data is copied from the source volume to a destination volume that is automatically assigned a new name.
  • After the move is complete, the system renames the destination volume to match the original source volume's name.
  • The source volume's data structures are then cleaned up by the system after the move is finished.
