Answer

The client does not have any reminder when the client reaches the Quota soft limit, it's expected.

Additional Information

  • Before ONTAP 9.3 (including 9.3)
    • EMS event quota.softlimit.exceeded (Severity NOTICE) and quota.exceeded: ltype="soft" (Severity DEBUG)are triggered when hard limit is exceeded. 
    • EMS event  wafl.quota.userQtree.exceeded.win  (Severity NOTICE) and quota.exceeded: ltype="hard" (Severity DEBUG) are triggered when hard limit is exceeded. 
  • After ONTAP 9.4  (including 9.4)
    • EMS event quota.softlimit.exceeded  (Severity NOTICE) is triggered when soft limit is exceeded. 
    • EMS event wafl.quota.qtree.exceeded  (Severity NOTICE) is triggered when hard limit is exceeded.
