Can't convert a FG volume to thick mode: volume size is greater than the maximum size

Issue

  • Can't convert a FlexGroup volume into the thick mode.
  • The following error message is being returned:

cluster::> vol modify -volume FG_vol_001 -space-guarantee volume
Error: command failed: Unable to set volume attribute "space-guarantee" for volume "FG_vol_001" on Vserver "SVM-01". Reason: Request to grow volume "FG_vol_001" in Vserver "SVM-01" failed because the resulting volume size is greater than the maximum size. The maximum possible size is X.XXPB(XXXXXXXXXXXXXXB).
