Cannot find file in ONTAP because its CIFS path includes a symlink

Issue

  • In Windows File Explorer, CIFS user browses to \\volA\folderA\folder2 and opens file.xlsx
  • vserver locks show says that no locks exist for a file with junction path /volA/folderA/folder2
  • file-directory show says that the file /volA/folderA/folder2/file.xlsx and folder /volA/folderA/folder2 do not exist
  • ONTAP System Manager's Volume File Explorer says that folder2 is a file under folderA
