Answer

In ONTAP 9.9.1, the override -command will fail with the following error:

::> set diag

::*> vserver config override -command "volume efficiency off -vserver de*ts* -volume sou*"

Error: command failed on vserver "destsvm" volume "source1": This operation is not permitted on a Vserver that is configured as the destination for identity preserve Vserver DR.

Additional Information

  • Previous ONTAP versions do allow the use of wildcards.
ONTAP 9.7:
::*> vserver config override -command "volume efficiency off -vserver des*tsvm* -volume sou*"
Efficiency for volume "source1" of Vserver "destsvm" is disabled.
Efficiency for volume "source2" of Vserver "destsvm" is disabled.
Efficiency for volume "source3" of Vserver "destsvm" is disabled.

  • Wildcard support is restored via Bug 1498391 - Certain SVM "volume efficiency" configuration override commands fail if used with wildcards
