Issue

  • Aggregate auto-provisioning fails with the following error, even though disks are shared:

Aggregate auto-provisioning is not supported with the current configuration on node "CLUSTER1-02". Reason: Aggregate auto-provisioning is not supported for non-uniform distribution of partitions between two nodes.

  • Additionally, output from aggr auto-provision shows a significant usable size imbalance between nodes:

Node   NewDataAggregate       UsableSize
----------------------------------------------------------
CLUSTER1-02     AGGR2         109.2TB
CLUSTER1-01     AGGR1         25.08TB
----------------------------------------------------------

Total: 2 new data aggregates 134.3TB

  • Attempts to update disk partition ownership do not resolve the imbalance.
  • sysconfig -r and debug vreport show indicate the presence of a data aggregate and volumes “Present in WAFL Only,” but these are not visible in aggr show.
