Access errors after disabling the large volume/LUN bootarg

Issue

  • Bootarg.init.large_lun_enabled was enabled on the cluster, and it had a 20TB LUN. The bootarg was disabled after updating to ONTAP 9.12.1P3+, which supports large volumes/LUNs. SQL access errors were observed after the bootarg was unset and the node was rebooted:

2024-02-13 12:33:51.24 spid45s The operating system returned error 27(The drive cannot find the sector requested.) and restore of db shows Msg 3202, Level 16, State 1, Line 6 Write on "???" failed: 27(The drive cannot find the sector requested.)
