Upgrading the Service Processor to version 4.1 or 5.1 may cause the SP to boot the backup image
Applies to
- SP 4.X / 5.X
- AFF A200 / FAS26XX
- AFF A300 / FAS8200
- AFF A700 / FAS9000
- When upgrading the Service Processor (SP) to version 4.1, 5.1 or later, from version 4.0, 5.0, or 5.0.1, the SP might get into a state where it always boots to the backup image.
- Since SP upgrades often happen during motherboard replacements, the issue is may be encountered once we reach the SP upgrade step.
- The SP will report running a secondary version:
[SP.notice]: Running secondary version 4.0
- In the SP MGMT MLOG (found in the etc/log directory) , you will notice similar error messages:
