Understanding “init sensor invalid” state in environment sensor output

Issue

  • When running the environment sensor command with hidden sensors displayed, the output includes entries such as:

(system node environment sensors show -node * -hidden true -state !normal)
Node         Sensor   State    Value/Units
------------------------------------------
node1-nav    init     invalid
node1-nav    init     invalid
node2-nav    init     invalid
node2-nav    init     invalid

  • Normal sensor output does not show these entries unless the -hidden true parameter is used.
