Issue

  • Daily AutoSupports triggered for disk redundancy failure:
HA Group Notification (DISK REDUNDANCY FAILED) ERROR
  • After reboot for any reason (including ONTAP upgrade) health alert reported post-reboot:
HA Group Notification (Health Monitor process nchm: NoPathToNSMA_Alert[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]) ALERT
  • Node may also report NoPathToNSMB_Alert to one or more shelves.
  • Cabling appears correct, but mapping out cabling per How to map out NS224 shelf cabling in ONTAP 9 shows some connections are down.
    • Note: In below example, port 1 is OK (reports attached port and manufacturer) but port 2 is down/missing the normal information.
