Issue

Several X438_1625400MCSG drives fail in short succession some time after the ONTAP upgrade was performed.
 
Messages indicate that the drives were pre-failed during the upgrade process:
 
Tue May 05 17:07:12 CEST [NETAPP-N2: config_thread: raid.disk.predictiveFailure:warning]: Disk 0a.00.2 Shelf 0 Bay 2 [NETAPP X438_1625400MCSG NA04] S/N [S182NEAG123456] reported a predictive failure and it is prefailed; it will be copied to a spare and failed
Tue May 05 17:07:12 CEST [NETAPP-N2: config_thread: raid.disk.predictiveFailure:warning]: Disk 0a.00.1 Shelf 0 Bay 1 [NETAPP X438_1625400MCSG NA04] S/N [S182NEAG234567] reported a predictive failure and it is prefailed; it will be copied to a spare and failed
