Answer

  • Yes, when the node is down and taken over by the partner, the health status reported in subsystem  reports the status of the node that is currently up. If no external shelves are used, the output in the system health subsystem show reporting ok is expected and normal.

Additional Information

  • The node that is down is not sending information, with no external SAS connections, the up-node would not be degraded.
  • Output showing the up-node is healthy and has no degraded subsystems.  While the cluster as a whole is not healthy, the up-node(s) are, when one node is down in a cluster.
  • FAS2750 in single-path with only internal drives and no external SAS cabling, the output in system health subsystem show reporting ok when the node is in takeover is expected.
  • If the system was in multi-path configuration that means there is external SAS cabling between the nodes and if one node is down, then you will see the SAS connect as unknown in the subsystem.
