Is it Safe to Disregard “Very Low Memory” Alerts on FAS2720 After Upgrading to ONTAP 9.16.1P11?

Issue

  • After upgrading FAS2720 systems to ONTAP 9.16.1P11, frequent “very low memory” events are reported in the event logs, even after applying the recommended workaround for bug CONTAP-539599 and performing a takeover/giveback (TO/GB).
  • These alerts persist despite no observed performance impact or node panics.
  • The customer seeks guidance on whether these alerts can be safely disregarded and if FlashCache can be re-enabled at all sites.
