Answer

Yes, you can connect the shelf using ports 0a/0b instead of 0a/0d in an HA (High Availability) pair.

  • However, it is not recommended. Using 0a/0b means both ports are on the same ASIC card, if the ASIC card fails, it could cause a node to be taken over.
  • For best practices and higher redundancy, it is recommended to connect the shelf using ports from different ASIC cards, such as 0a/0d.
