Description

  • Updating BMC firmware is typically performed from ONTAP (ONTAP System Manager or CLI)
  • Firmware can also be updated from directly from the BMC CLI
  • Historically, the BMC firmware package used to update from ONTAP is in .zip format and the package to update from the BMC is in .tar.gz format
  • For some platforms, an option exists to also use the .zip format with the "bmc update" BMC CLI command
