For systems with a separate management module, will replacing the motherboard result in a change of the serial number?

Answer

No. In the platforms that contain a separate System Management Module (part number X50192A), the system serial number is stored within this module . Therefore, if only the motherboard is replaced and the System Management Module remains unchanged, the system serial number will not change. Subsequently, it is not necessary to update the node's license keys or license file when only the motherboard is replaced.
