Fault reported in DS4486 shelf due to over temperature failure

Issue

  • The following shelf fault error is reported in the event logs:

[Node-02: statd: monitor.shelf.fault:alert]: Critical fault reported on disk storage shelf attached to channel 3b. Check fans, power supplies, disks, and temperature sensors.
[Node-02: dsa_worker3: callhome.shlf.overtemp:debug]: Call home for SHELF OVER TEMPERATURE 43 C (109 F)
[Node-02: dsa_worker3: ses.status.temperatureError:debug]: DS4486 (S/N SHJGDXXXXXXX123) shelf 10 on channel 0d temperature error for Temperature sensor 1: critical status; overtemperature failure. Current temperature: 43 C (109 F). This module is on the front of the shelf on the left, on the OPS panel.

  • The ENVIRONMENT logs report overtemperature failure on temperature sensor 1:

  • The STORAGE-FAULT section of autosupport shows an overtemperature warning on the temperature sensor:
