Issue

  • [Node1-01: upgrademgr: upgrademgr.update.pausedErr:error]: The automated update of the cluster has been paused due to the following reason:  Node "Node1-01": Error: {Node "Node1-02" is not in "waiting for giveback" state.}, Action: {Use the "storage failover show" to verify that node "Node1-02" is in one of the following states: "waiting for giveback" or "connected".}.

  • boot_ontap - causes machine to halt
  • system power cycle - fails
  • set this bootarg:     LOADER> setenv bootarg.init.clearvarfsnvram true
  • Try  boot_ontap menu
  • boot_ontap maint also fails to load the system
