External servers unavailable from node  due to S3 server not freeing used ports

Issue

  • One or more SVM's are unable to connect to external servers (i.e. NIS) when their LIF's are on a specific node and EMS events are logged for ipfw.ReachedMaxStates.
  • On the affected node netstat -an  shows high number of TCP connections in CLOSED state where the local port number is 443
