Error: THRIFT_POLL (timed out) exception occurred in DsmdbServer code

Issue

  • Node power show command reports the below error in one node. Example: 

::> system node power show
...
Error: THRIFT_POLL (timed out) exception occurred in DsmdbServer code

  • Packet loss pinging Service Processor (SP) IP remotely. Example:

~$ ping <SP_IP>
--- <SP_IP> ping statistics ---
100 packets transmitted, 80 received, 20% packet loss, time 98997ms

  • SSH connection to SP hangs or closes, when accessing remotely. Example:  

~$ ssh admin@<SP_IP>
  ssh: connect to host <SP_IP> port 22: Connection timed out

or

  Connection closed by <SP_IP>

  • The issue above is not happening when connecting a laptop directly to the SP port.
