Issue

  • During the ONTAP upgrade, the system fails to give back with the below error:

cluster1::> storage failover giveback -ofnode node1

Error: command failed: Failed to initiate giveback. Reason: HA partner RAID or WAFL label versions are older than this         node's labels. Run the "system node image show" command to determine which image on the partner should be booted         to be compatible with the local node.

  • Node reports the following panic string:

[node1: send_boot_msg_thread: mgr.stack.string:notice]: Panic string: giveback or arl hung in snapmirror while doing SENDHOME_DOING_VETOCHECK in SK process sendhome_hang_detector on release 9.8P9 (C)

  • During boot, the node reports a dirty shutdown

Warning:  A clean shutdown did not occur and the default boot
image was not modified.  To change the default boot image,
the operation must be followed by a clean shutdown.
