Issue

  • Amber light may be seen on module.
  • Amber light may be seen on management module.
  • The the error will be seen in events all log output from the BMC, below is an example of the IO module in slot X:

Record 1773: Wed Feb 26 09:22:18.000000 2025 [SysFW.notice]: Device 73/0/0 (IOX) failed to train at max link width - retraining
Record 1774: Wed Feb 26 09:22:18.000000 2025 [SysFW.notice]:  - Expected x16, actual x2
Record 1775: Wed Feb 26 09:22:19.000000 2025 [SysFW.notice]: Device 73/0/0 (IOX) failed to retrain at max link width
