Both the ports from IX4-T chip are down after the ONTAP upgrade

Issue

  • Before the ONTAP upgrade, both ports were up and online.
slot 0: 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller IX4-T
  e0c MAC Address:    00:a0:XX:df:XX:3b (auto-1000t-fd-up)
  e0d MAC Address:    00:a0:XX:df:XX:3c (auto-10g_t-fd-up)
  • Checked the device discovery show output and observed that e0c/e0d are connected to two different switches.
  • After the ONTAP upgrade, both e0c/e0d ports went down.

  e0c MAC Address:    00:a0:XX:df:XX:3b (auto-unknown-fd-down)
  e0d MAC Address:    00:a0:XX:df:XX:3c (auto-unknown-fd-down)

  • Bouncing the ports also results in the same error.
