AFF-A70/ AFF-A90 reports "platform.noPartnerPresent" error and shows IC RDMA connection down while HA interconnect links are up

Issue

  • One of the nodes reporting the below error while booting  

     Sep 10 06:44:47 [NODE-01:platform.noPartnerPresent:notice]: Controller partner's presence could not be read via GPIO.   Read partner ID: 6.

  • IC RDMA connection reports as down on both nodes even though both the HA interconnect links are up 

      NTAP-CLUSTER::*> node run -node * ic status  
      2 entries were acted on.

      Node: NODE-01
              Link 0: up
              Link 1: up
              IC RDMA connection : down

      Node: NODE-02
              Link 0: up
              Link 1: up
              IC RDMA connection : down

  • The output of "storage failover show" reports below error

  • Below errors are seen on both nodes while booting

     Sep 02 06:46:37 [NODE-01:cf.fm.noMBDisksOrIc:error]: Could not find the local mailbox disks. Could not determine the   firmware state of the partner through the HA interconnect.
     Sep 02 06:46:38 [NODE-01:cf.fm.notkoverClusterDisable:error]: Failover monitor: takeover disabled (restart)
     Sep 02 06:46:38 [NODE-01:cf.fsm.takeoverOfPartnerDisabled:error]: Failover monitor: takeover of NODE-02 disabled   (Controller Failover takeover disabled).
