ONTAP Mediator Installation Fails Due to Password Complexity Requirement

Issue

  • Installation of ONTAP Mediator 1.10 on Rocky Linux 10.0 fails during the password input stage for the mediatoradmin account.
  • The installer exits with the following error:
       Enter ONTAP Mediator user account (mediatoradmin) password:
       Password fails minimum complexity. Must contain 8-64 characters, one lowercase letter, one special character, and           two digit characters.
       Error: install failed.
       Install failed. Moving log file to /netapp/
  • No additional error is logged in install.log.
