SnapMirror Synchronous Policy: restore operation fails or not allowed on source volume

Issue

  • When attempting to perform a restore operation on the source volume of a SnapMirror Synchronous (Sync) relationship, the operation fails with an error or is not allowed. 
  • Even after issuing a snapmirror break or temporarily disabling the relationship, the restore may still fail.
  • After deleting and recreating the SnapMirror relationship, the new relationship may be stuck in “Idle” or “Asynchronous” (not Sync) state.
